Editing a Paid Invoice

Occasionally, a paid invoice needs to be adjusted — due to a billing error, a service change, or a client dispute. WithinEHR allows you to make corrections while maintaining a complete audit trail.


What You Can Edit on a Paid Invoice

  • Correct service descriptions or billing codes
  • Adjust line item amounts (which may trigger a credit or additional charge)
  • Add or remove services
  • Issue a credit note against the original invoice

How to Edit a Paid Invoice

  1. Go to the Billing section.
  2. Locate and open the paid invoice.
  3. Click Edit Invoice.
  4. Make the necessary adjustments.
  5. Save the changes — WithinEHR will record the edit with a timestamp for audit purposes.

If the edit results in an overpayment, you can apply the difference as a credit to the client's balance or issue a refund.
