Getting Started with Telehealth

WithinEHR Telehealth enables you to conduct secure, HIPAA-compliant video sessions with your clients from anywhere. This guide covers the essential setup steps to get your virtual care workflow running.


Adding a Virtual Location

Before scheduling telehealth appointments, set up a virtual location in your practice settings.

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Locations.
  3. Click Add Location and choose Virtual as the location type.
  4. Name the location (e.g., "Telehealth") and save.

Scheduling a Telehealth Appointment

Once your virtual location is configured, you can schedule telehealth appointments the same way as in-person visits.

  1. Go to the Schedule tab.
  2. Click Create and select Appointment.
  3. Choose the client, service, and clinician.
  4. Set the Location to your virtual telehealth location.
  5. Click Create Appointment to confirm.

Starting a Video Call

When it is time for the appointment, start the video session directly from the appointment details in WithinEHR.
