Telehealth FAQ
Is WithinEHR Telehealth HIPAA compliant?
Yes. WithinEHR Telehealth uses end-to-end encryption and is designed to meet HIPAA requirements for secure video communication. A BAA is available for covered entities.
What browsers are supported?
WithinEHR Telehealth works best on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge. Safari is supported but may have limitations. Firefox is not recommended for video sessions.
Do clients need to download an app?
No. Clients join telehealth sessions directly through their browser using the link sent to them — no app download required.
What internet speed is required?
A minimum of 5 Mbps upload and download is recommended for a stable video session. Higher speeds improve video quality.
Can I record a telehealth session?
Session recording availability depends on your plan and applicable consent laws in your jurisdiction. Always obtain explicit client consent before recording any session.
What happens if the connection drops mid-session?
Both parties can rejoin the session using the original session link. The session remains active for a defined period after a disconnection.
Can I share my screen during a session?
Yes. Use the Share Screen button in the session controls to share your screen with the client.
How do I send a client their session link?
The session link is automatically sent to the client via email when the telehealth appointment is created. You can also resend it from the appointment details page.
